We’re at Suwannee River State Park near Live Oak, FL. It’s pretty chilly, but is nice if we bundle up and walk fast. 🙂
A stock pot takes up a lot of real estate in a Casita!
Gail was still very sick today, so she finally went to a doctor. It’s good she did. She was sicker than she thought. But if all goes well with her meds, she should start feeling better in a couple of days.
I took some homemade soup to her this evening, and hope it will be the cure-all that chicken soup is reputed to be.

She was so funny. She called me a little while ago and said, we need to define exactly how sick she has to be to be treated like that again. 😀
I spent most of the day working in the trailer, walking Sheba, and tending the soup pot. Tomorrow I want to find the old cemetery again and get some good photos of it. There are also all kinds of geological and botanical oddities here that I want to capture.
Some kind of fungus. At first I thought it was leaves caught up in a spider web. But it’s mushrooms, and the webby stuff (that looks like mycelium) may be a feature of the mushroom.

It was a nearly impossible job to back the Casita in here without slamming the truck into the trees or the posts on the other side. I’m ready for pull-thrus for a while!

/ December 12, 2014Hey, We have been keepin track of you guys! We are Casita fanatic’s, LOVE our Casita 17′ Freedom Deluxe. Our Friends we travel with are selling their Freedom D.to get a new 17′ Spirit, to get more storage. We on the other hand are going to take out the capt’n chairs and build a full half bed with loads of storage under, with pull out drawers and an area under the bed with a place to put all the towels and bedding( I just happen to be a master carpenter. With all the tools needed.. . The plan is to have ours look and function just like your trailer, but with full cabinets under the 1/2 bed/day bed. I plan on putting the pixs on your blog to show what I did. I am a retired Firefighter and have had much larger RVs. The Casita is the best of all worlds to see our great country!! I will keep in touch.

/ December 12, 2014Great to hear from you! I have often thought that if I could order a new Casita, I would order a Freedom and have them not install the tables, table mounts or chairs. That would leave me a blank slate to finish the way I wanted.
However I am not a carpenter so I would probably pay someone to do it to my specs.

A picture came through FB the other day of Christmas on a budget.. they hung one of those sented air freshners on the wall. But they have some tiny little trees you could pick up at even a dollar store. Have fun with it.

I hadn’t thought of the Dollar Store. They should have all kinds of things that will work in the Casita.

Envious of your ability to back up the Casita like threading a needle. Practice makes perfect, I guess.
We turn our heat to 50 when we’re not home! We don’t have it as high as 65, even in the dead of winter – I would shudder to think what the gas bill might be if we did!

/ December 13, 2014Judy, all the time she was in Texas we just lived for the time we could be together. Especially after we startef for Texas last Christmas, got sick, and had to turn atound and go home. So this time together is really cherished.
The main thing she insisted on when she bought her home in Texas and the new one here is that there were no restrictions against having my camper parked in her back yard so I can visit as often and as long as I want to.
I usually leave the thermostat on 60 when we leave, and one time I left it on 50 with no ill effects. I can’t remember why on earth I left it on 65. Probably that I knew we were going to be gone a long time and what if the power went off and everything froze.
I am not always terribly logical when I am in a rush to leave! I’ll do better next time. 🙂
