Blue Skies Again

Have you ever seen a campsite before with benches around the firepit and a two person swing overlooking a lake?

We are loving it here at Trimble Park!

Today we went shopping in the nearby town of Eustis that has everything you might need.  Lots of shopping and restaurants and a big Walmart and Target.  It’s kind of nice to camp near civilization again.

Ron wore a jacket and hat as he sneezed, coughed and endured another day of a bad cold.  I was comfortable in short sleeves until late afternoon.

The clouds are parting and there is blue sky in sight!

This is the first time I’ve gone shopping and bought more food than the Casita can store.  We have boxes and packages everywhere.  I don’t think we could get another item in our refrigerator.  So I guess it’s time to start doing some serious cooking and use some of it up.

Tomorrow I plan to make a big pot of chicken stew and use up all those fresh veggies that will spoil if I don’t use them soon.

I think these are coots. We startled a big flock of them and these are the ones who were in no hurry to get away.

    • It was such a thrill to see the sun and blue skies again. Later it turned a deep, glorious crimson, but my camera couldn’t capture the colors.

Well, I will have space for the groceries after a bunch of cooking! 😀

    • This is one of the parks I would never have found without the Allstays app. It is a hidden gem!

I’ll fix the stew tomorrow. And I usually am pretty proud of how it turns out. It also keeps me from cooking the next day. 🙂

  5. So happy the weather cleared up and love the pictures through the palm trees to the waters edge. I bet that big pot of soup will help Ron feel better too.

  6. Love the clouds and water photo! The phone is doing a good job. We spent a week in 2013 just north of you at Lake Dorr. Very quiet, very nice bathhouse, very very inexpensive but no electric. Loved having civilization minutes away at Umatilla..
I think there was a huge flea market at Eutus or somewhere close….everything was there..even farmers market stuff. Keep of enjoying…the rest of the country is in survival mode with this cold.

    • This is such a nice area, Lynne. I’m not familiar with Lake Dorr. Will have to check it out.

I think Orange County has several parks, but some don’t allow dogs.

We are planning to check out Fore Lake when we leave here. Even though it’s in the Ocala NF, I’ve read that it gets a cell signal.

It is only going down into the 30’s here tonight and tomorrow is supposed to get up to 60. Yay!!! 🙂

      • Two years ago, Fore Lake had too many mosquitoes but the cold weather has probably eliminated the problem. Dorr Lake is also in the Ocala NF.

  7. Ha! Those fridges are surprisingly small aren’t they! Looks like you really scored with your campsite – I like the fire pit benches.

Have to say – the camper is looking quite shiny!

    • Anne, when we start a trip, the refrigerator seems big enough. But when we add veggies, fruit and leftovers, it turns into a micro fridge.

Thanks for noticing my new PoliGlow polish job. 🙂

  8. What a beautiful campground. I’d have to agree with other readers that it sure looks like you’ve gotten the hang of your phone’s camera. Especially like the shot of the coots.

    • Thank you, Judy! I am surprised at what a decent camera it is. I haven’t used my big camera once this trip.

    • The sun setting picture surprised me. I knew the sky was gorgeous, but didn’t expect the picture to turn out so well. The coot picture was my second favorite, too! Thanks, Horst.
