I feel like I’m alive again!
I got rid of the infected gall bladder and two marble sized stones. What a difference it made in my energy and outlook on life. I want to DO things again! And today I had a colonoscopy, came home, ate, got a spurt of energy–and went out and started polishing the dull spots on the Casita.
We have tons of things to do still, but are shooting to head to Florida the first week in November.
It’s WAY past time!!!
I am planning to have the Casita walls and ceiling steam cleaned if I can get someone to agree to do it. Dogs to the vet, haircuts, doctor visits, mail order meds to be sent to the St. Brendan’s address, new truck and trailer tags, taxes… and a few dozen other details.
So soon the blog will come alive again!

/ October 14, 2014I’m so glad you got that bad boy gall bladder removed. You’ll start feeling better and better. Hope your hubby’s cataract surgery went as well. Glad you’ll be getting back on the road sooner than you had thought (end of November).
Question: I had a roof leak in my Winnebago that made unsightly stains all along the carpeted roof driver’s side that runs all the way to the back bedroom (32′). Do you think the carpet cleaning people could remove the water stains? The leak has been fixed but the stain remains…ugh! It looks terrible. If you don’t think they can make it look better, do you or any of your readers have suggestions that will improve the looks of the ceiling?
Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

/ October 14, 2014Cat Lady, thanks for the good wishes. I am feeling great! Hubby is postponing the cataract surgery because they have him scheduled for surgery on Dec. 23 in Atlanta (Christmas rush traffic). So we will get that done when we return home.
So sorry to hear about the water stains. I don’t know if a regular carpet cleaning would get the water stains out. I did notice in the Yellow Pages that there are auto and carpet people who advertise water stain removal services, but I have no personal knowledge or recommendation.

/ October 14, 2014I’m so happy to hear that you’re on the upswing. Polishing the Casita sounds like the old Tinycamper is back! Yay!!
I would be leery about steam cleaning. Seems like it’s SO wet. It often will take my home carpeting a few days to dry completely out. But, I understand wanting to do it. Ive successfully used Spot Shot on some of our bug-killing spots, and it has worked very well. Wait until you get to the desert southwest, where you know any moisture will get sucked out instantly, then go for it!

/ October 14, 2014Judy, I do worry about excess moisture. Do you know anything about the dry encapsulation carpet cleaning process? I’ve read good things about it, but I am one of those old fashioned people who thinks it takes lots of water and elbow grease to clean stuff! 😀
I thought the old Tinycamper was gone forever, but am overjoyed to see her re-emerging! Life is so much more fun now!

/ October 14, 2014Don’t know anything about dry encapsulation. But, I did install some new carpeting at home last year, and have resolved not to steam clean. It seems to brighten, then immediately make it dingy. I’ll be interested to see what works in the Casita for you.

Ron is going to postpone the eye surgery until we get back. Hope he will be okay. I might have to do more driving than usual. Usually he drives and I do the backing up.
No offense, but no way, Jose! on cleaning another Casita! 😀
I love your happy reaction to our good news!!!

/ October 14, 2014Hooray! Such good news on feeling well after gallbladder surgery. I know it turned my daughter’s health around last winter. Nov. is a great time to visit FL, nice temps and less crowded. Have fun. We used St. Brendan’s Isle on your recommendation last winter. It worked out great and we’ll use their mail service again this year.

/ October 14, 2014We were in Florida one May when the temperatures were in the 90’s with matching humidity. We almost died! But winter down there is a wonderful escape… with an occasional gotcha! 🙂
Glad to hear about the improvement the gall bladder surgery made for your daughter. I had never heard of that before the doctor told me it could make that much of a difference.
So happy you liked St. Brendans. I love their service, and I also love just having that Florida address. 🙂
