Tenters on the other bank
Cloud cover and a steady breeze made exploring the woods a pleasure today. Amazingly, we have not picked up a single tick! Yet, anyway!
A variety of blueberries or huckleberries.
I took Sunny for a short, slow, old-doggie-paced walk this morning. He soon tired, so we headed back. Then I took Sheba for a longer, brisker, more interesting walk.
I found all kinds of little wonders to photograph. However, in transferring them to my computer, I lost over 30 of them. My favorites, of course!
I think it might be time to start thinking about getting a new camera. I promised myself one for Christmas, but I might not make it that long.

/ June 7, 2014Hi Sharon, The buggy critters absolutely love me, so I bathe in lavender soap and add a spray of the oil mixed with alcohol on hats, lower sleeves and pants legs with boots to keep the ticks and the chiggers away. It also helps with any itchy bites. Most bugs dislike it about as much as scorpions do. If all else fails you can turn to dog fennel rubbed on your skin (sampled first for reactions in a tender spot) as it will keep the mosquitoes away also. Enjoy the great outdoors without them enjoying you 😀

/ June 7, 2014So you are still managing in the heat! Pat yourself on the back for finding ways to have a good time. Went hiking this am and almost got sick from the heat and high humidity. Think the humidity was really the culprit.

/ June 7, 2014Lynne, the only thing that saved us today was cloud cover and a nice breeze. It got sticky and still this evening, but I’m in the air now and working on remembering only the good. It was the best day we’ve had here so far.
Yes, it’s definitely the humidity. It makes the air heavy and hard to breathe for me, too.

Some places we go they don’t have many, so it’s really special to see people enjoying “real” camping.
