This is the section where we camped in the Aliner on a previous trip here. It’s steep and difficult to back into — but nicely private.
We had expected thunderstorms today. But a cloudy morning turned into a beautiful, warm, partly sunny afternoon. What a wonderful last day of camping before going home.

Keeping Sheba penned and Sunny leashed seems to work best at keeping both dogs happy. And happy dogs make us happy campers! 🙂

/ April 30, 2013I think I have that same picture of the campsite with the long drive, when I was there 3/16/08 and the site I stayed in is not too far away. I loved it there. Besides pictures and good memories to take with me I brought home my first (and only) case of traveling ants. They stayed with me for months and was still getting rid of them when I got home! I thought I had pulled my electrical cord up off the ground, but apparently it had slipped. You brought back some great memories of that area.

/ April 30, 2013It must be the time of year, but I have not see a single ant at our campsite here. I have left bowls of dog food out all day. I have seen ant hills on our walks, though.
The only places I have ever had bug problems were cockroaches at Doll Mountain COE in north Georgia (the woods were infested with them), and ants at Lake Seminole a couple of years ago. We didn’t get any in our trailer when we visited there a couple of weeks ago, though.
I am so glad that the post brought back good memories. I love it when I read blogs about places I’ve enjoyed. It lets me “go” there again. 🙂

/ April 30, 2013Even with a tiny camper those back sites are a bear. We noticed scrapes on all of those steep driveways where the rear end of trailers or RVs had scraped the back of their rigs on the pavement.
The Aliner didn’t have a problem with that. Not sure I would try my older Casita without a highrise axle and with 14″ tires on it. The back sits pretty low as it is!
It’s nice to know that you will be thinking of us today! 🙂
