The WindowMaxx vent
I finally got the WindowMaxx vent installed today.
I hated to drill the 6 screw holes into the Casita. Sure hope it really is waterproof!
It will be nice to be able to leave a window open to keep the Casita aired out when we’re not camping –without being worried about a sudden shower drenching the upholstery. And the ventilation when we are camping in the rain will be welcome.
My motivation to do anything else in this heat is almost nil.

/ July 11, 2012Don’t know why they ever quit putting in jalousie windows. They have the sliding windows and now you have to buy a little jalousie thing to put in those. So let us know how well it works in a gulley washer. Does it have a screen? Kinda hard to see well.

No screen…. the existing window screen is behind the vent still when the window is open.

/ July 11, 2012Maybe I’m not seeing it right, but from that picture it looks as though your louvers are slanted the wrong direction… with the bottoms in rather than out. If that’s the case, then it will funnel the water right to your interior! Those things are directional, so you have to order the right type for the window you have! That one looks like it should be turned around and put on the other end of the window! I hope I’m wrong, and that you didn’ go to all that work for nothing!

/ July 11, 2012Jerry, it feels weird having it open from that side, but I figured all of them were that way. Larry at Little House Customs sized it for me and predrilled the holes. So that must have been standard installation in on the 2005 models.
Anyway, it covers the open window, so I’m happy! 🙂
