We, along with much of the country, are experiencing scorching temperatures.
So much of our summer will probably be spent hibernating inside in the air conditioning. We’ll occasionally emerge from our burrow in early morning or late afternoon after the sun goes behind the trees.
Thank God we aren’t dealing with wildfires, too!

/ June 28, 2012We are so grateful here in Western PA that we’re not battling wildfires or floods (unbelievable), and have temps ‘only’ in the 90s, but at our age (late 60s, which I can’t believe – seems like we were 40 yesterday!) we’re hiding in the house, too, with the A/C. Can’t sit in the gazebo, as the sun hits it full blast in the afternoon. Hope your mom is OK. Good thing that land is higher. We have family in Jacksonville, but they’re okay. I’m glad you’re back in your house right now!

/ June 29, 2012We are close to the same age. Sure can’t take heat like I could when I was a kid in Jacksonville!
So sad about your not being able to use the gazebo. I don’t like to wish our lives away, but it sure will be nice when cooler temperatures come around again.
Mom is doing fine. She amazes me. I am sure she will outlive me! 🙂

/ June 29, 2012It is even hot here in the mountains. I have also been using the A/C. Luckily we have had some really good rains. I hope it keeps the fires away.
