Overnighting at FDR State Park

We stopped at FDR State Park around 5:00 this afternoon.  The day had been overcast, windy and chilly, but for a few glorious minutes, the sun broke through.

Our site is so level that we were able to leave the trailer hitched.  So we’ll be ready for a quick getaway tomorrow morning.

We used our Firedancer propane campfire for the first time this afternoon.  It is even better than I expected.  What is really cool is that underneath the ceramic logs, you get a bit of red glow just like live wood coals.  I don’t think sitting next to it felt as warm as it would have with a wood fire, but it did help take the chill off.  Best of all, it had the same relaxing effect as a real camp fire.

We are tired tonight, so are taking it easy this evening.  Looking forward to getting back on the road in the morning.  🙂

Your little campfire looks good. Roast any marshmallows? Wish I was camping.

  2. That is a great fire pit. I might have to get one. Of course I won’t get it on time to leave Monday. Oh well next trip. Have fun.
