I just put the Aliner (big project) for sale on Craigslist.
I’m hoping it sells soon. I’m still hoping to find a nice used Scamp or Casita later this year or next spring. 🙂

/ September 16, 2011Tiny Camper, I could not find the right thread in your blog that tells when things went downhill! I just got a used 2005 (smaller unit) so I was wondering what in a nutshell happened.

/ September 17, 2011Jane, my Aliner was the worst lemon a lemon can be, starting with the bent frame in the beginning. But it was not characteristic of most Aliners. I do believe Aliner quality is spotty. But sometimes people do get decent trailers, and other times it takes a little work to get them up to speed. I’ve never read of another one with the problems I had.
But my posts detailing the unbelievable list of unending problems was starting to sound like a vendetta against the company. I DID feel angry at the company because I had to pay for that lemon and the unending repairs. But I just didn’t feel right carrying that grudge forever, and decided to delete the posts and let it go.
The main thing to watch is if you have a water heater or bathroom in yours is to watch for leaks. Due to the black membrane underneath the floor, you can’t spot water damage until there is a major problem.
Also, if you can cover your Aliner to keep the sun off the skylights, it will keep them from cracking from UV damage.
Otherwise, if your trailer looks in good condition to you, it probably IS in decent condition. So just enjoy it! They are some of the cutest, most fun little RVs out there. 🙂
