Extreme Tornado Warnings for Tomorrow

This is a quote from the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

Glenn Burns, the chief meteorologist for Channel 2 Action News, said Tuesday evening the “significant tornado parameters” he’s been watching all day Tuesday are “off the scale.”

“When it’s a 1, it means tornadoes are possible. At 3, it means they are likely. Ours is 8 to 11,” Burns said. “All the parameters are there for tornadoes, damaging winds, hail, intense lightning. It very likely we will see some flooding in North Georgia.”

He said people should look for “super cell thunder storms.”

And they should be prepared…..

We frequently lose power in bad storms.  Guess we’ll head out first thing tomorrow and stock up with bottled water and easy to prepare foods… and pray that it misses us!

On edit:  I’ve checked the radar maps and it looks like the major storms are going to miss us.  I bet the comments by the Atlanta weather forecaster were just sensationalized for ratings.  I hope.  🙂

  1. It’s that season for us too. My ex’s nephew had extensive damage to his house last week from one. He lives probably 4 or so miles away. They’re living in a hotel for a few months until the damage is repaired. We just wind and rain that night but it was the scary kind and the sirens went off. Short and sweet. I know there was a watch last night and we had heavy rain through the night. Hope it gets nice again soon. Actually, the sun was shining and it was beautiful yesterday afternoon for a change!
