Well, we got the gas and water hooked up today.
The water heater is a DSI model. Apparently you can’t just light it with a lighter like the old one.
So now I am trying to understand wiring diagrams. I am so afraid of working with electricity.
I will take another look at it tomorrow, and if I do not understand it, or am not comfortable doing it, I will take it to the RV shop.

/ October 5, 2010Glad to hear that you have your new water heater
however I still can not understand the failure on these units. There must be a reason!
The new heater being solidstate controlled are very reliable.Ignition is a spark and automatically
controlled water temp and safety features incorporated.Electricity is easy make sure you power is off when working on the unit or see your
rv dealer.

I know that working with electricity is simple. It’s just something my mind won’t wrap around!
I have decided I’ll take it in and have it connected at the RV shop. I think I’ll go ahead and get new tires while I’m at it instead of waiting until next spring.
That way I’ll feel safer when we head to Florida and Texas this winter.
